Polished Like a HOTEL Throughout, with a Wing PRIVATE Enough to FORGET the Rest of the HOME Exists.
the BRIEF
The brief was a penthouse that held a hotel’s standard of polish on every level, in every room, without exception. LLP Design was engaged to curate every furnishing, wallcovering, window treatment and decorative selection across the residence — a single tonal palette, carried from the entry through to the terrace, deliberate enough that no room reads as separate from the next.
The existing kitchen set an early cue: its stone and timber told LLP Design exactly which direction the rest of the home’s materials needed to move in, long before a single piece of furniture was chosen.
What makes the Greens Penthouse extraordinary is its second act — a private wing, fully self-contained, where someone can work, retreat or simply disappear for an afternoon and feel they’ve left the rest of the residence behind entirely. Polished like a hotel throughout, with a wing private enough to forget the rest of the home exists.
the ENTRY
A round centre table anchors the arrival, its marble top and fretwork brass base set beneath a tiered crystal chandelier. A sculptural orchid and palm arrangement rises from the table’s centre, flanked by a cluster of black velvet ottomans finished in brushed brass. Underfoot, a black and cream patterned rug grounds the herringbone oak flooring. A gold-toned abstract canvas hangs to one side, the single piece of wall art chosen to set the tone for everything beyond it — sourced and styled entirely to give the arrival a lobby’s sense of occasion.
The LIVING and DINING Room
A dramatic Calacatta Macchia Oro marble fireplace, veined in gold and grey, runs floor to ceiling and
anchors the entire room — the hero of the space, framed on either side by uninterrupted views out across the golf course. A built-in television sits flush within the stone, and a linear gas flame runs beneath it.
At the dining end, a marble-topped table is surrounded by quilted blush chairs on brass legs, lit from above by a tiered brass and crystal chandelier. Floor-to-ceiling curtains in soft champagne pool at the herringbone oak floor, framing the view beyond.
At the lounge end, a white grand piano sits before the window, its silhouette repeated in the curve of the velvet sofa and pair of swivel chairs gathered around a glass and brass coffee table. A fresh orchid arrangement sits at the table’s centre. Built-in marble-clad joinery to one side holds a curated collection of objects, books and vessels, lit from within. Every piece in the room — furniture, styling, soft furnishings — selected and styled by LLP Design.
The Master SUITE
The principal suite reads as a residence within the residence — bedroom, sitting room, fireplace and private bar all held within the one self-contained zone, glass-walled from the ensuite beyond. A faux fur throw in warm taupe softens the foot of the bed, paired with a mix of cream, black and patterned cushions beneath a cascading crystal chandelier. A marble-clad gas fireplace divides the bedroom from a private sitting area, where two cream swivel armchairs are drawn around a brass drum table.
Built-in joinery houses a private bar, styled with glassware, florals and personal objects beneath warm strip lighting. Floor-to-ceiling glazing frames the golf course beyond, dressed in soft sheers and heavier drapery in warm taupe.
The MASTER Ensuite
Marble continues across the floor and walls, framing a freestanding oval bath in black stone, positioned to face the golf course view through full-height glazing. Brushed brass tapware and dual overhead rain showers sit within a glass-walled shower beyond, finished with the same considered restraint as the suite it adjoins.
the THEATRE Room
A wall-mounted projector screen anchors one end of the room, framed by a marble-topped media console in warm timber. A large gestural canvas in black, gold and cream hangs beside it, echoed across the room by a triptych in the same palette. A deep herringbone floor in warm timber grounds the room, paired with a tufted linen sectional dressed in a mix of black, cream and tan cushions. A sculptural dark timber coffee table is styled with books, ceramics and objects, while a fresh orchid arrangement sits atop the media console. Full-height glazing opens the room to the golf course beyond.
A HOTEL Standard, LIVED in EVERY Day.
The Alfresco ENTERTAINING Space
The outdoor entertaining wraps two distinct zones beneath the one covered terrace. A lounge setting gathers woven rattan armchairs and a deep grey sectional sofa around a round dark-topped coffee table on a brass fretwork base, dressed with glass lanterns and styled objects, all set on a charcoal patterned rug. Beyond it, a dining setting pairs a substantial timber table with black woven dining chairs, simply styled with a single ceramic bowl at its centre. Both settings are positioned to take in the same uninterrupted view across the golf course and the city skyline beyond, equally suited to morning light or dusk.
