Heritage, understood
Work that respects the conservation area.
Paddington is a heritage conservation area, and it falls across two councils, so the first step is confirming which rules apply to the house. Much of the most rewarding work happens inside: kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, lighting and finishes that leave the facade as the street knows it. Where a change needs council consent, the studio coordinates the drawings and the consultants the application calls for.
Long, narrow, generous
Drawing light into a narrow plan.
A terrace takes its light from each end. The studio works the middle of the house: mirror and joinery placed to carry light, voids opened where the structure allows, and colour that keeps its depth on a grey winter afternoon.
