Collected with INTENTION…
Brought TOGETHER beautifully
Perched high on the hill in East Fremantle with river, city and ocean views in every direction, View Residence had the setting.
The clients wanted an interior to match it.
Considered, collected and completely personal, sourced from across Australia and the world. LLP Design furnished, dressed and accessorised every room, building an environment that earns its place beside one of the finest outlooks in Western Australia.
Entry Portico and FOYER Stair
LLP Design composed the arrival at View Residence the way a set is dressed: nothing accidental, nothing missing.
A pair of stone urn planters on raised plinths flank the opening, their clipped topiary precise against the rendered facade.
A gilded timber occasional table inside the threshold, styled with design books and a single orchid stem, draws the eye inward and upward toward the marble stair and wrought-iron balustrade beyond.
French elegance doesn’t ARRIVE.
It’s SOURCED, placed and brought to life by LLP Design.
the Formal DINING room
The formal dining room at View Residence is defined entirely by what LLP Design brought to it. A French crystal chandelier in aged brass, sourced and installed by LLP Design, anchors the ceiling and transforms the quality of light in the room. The dining chairs, upholstered in cream linen on French provincial carved timber frames, were selected to occupy the room with quiet authority alongside the dark-stained timber table.
Plantation-shuttered windows are dressed with tailored roller blinds. The table is styled for entertaining: crystal stemware, pressed linen, a low arrangement of garden flowers. A monochromatic photographic artwork in a dark frame grounds the wall without competing with the warmth of the timber and crystal above.
the Sitting Room
A reading corner in the principal sitting room shows LLP Design’s furnishing approach at its most considered. The wing chair, upholstered in ivory with an ebony trim, and its matching footstool were selected for silhouette as much as comfort. The table lamp beside it, on a polished nickel and gold column with a black drum shade, introduces a graphic note that holds the warmth of the surrounding palette in check.
The floor-to-ceiling damask drapery in taupe and gold was specified, made and installed by LLP Design. Falling from ceiling height and pooling softly at the floor, it changes the entire character of the room. The dark velvet cushion with gold baroque embroidery and fringe trim is the kind of piece sourced with a specific chair already in mind.
A ROOM that rewards looking from EVERY direction. Each vignette COMPLETE in itself.
the Principal LIVING Room
The principal living room is where LLP Design’s sourcing is felt most completely. A custom white leather sofa grounds the seating plan, paired with antique French fauteuils in sage-blue silk damask on gilded carved timber frames, chosen for their patina as much as their proportion. The beaded empire chandelier was an LLP Design selection: its soft reflected pattern across the ceiling shifts the room from day to evening with complete authority. Floor-to-ceiling damask drapery in taupe, specified and installed by LLP Design, frames the windows and draws the room inward, a considered counterpoint to the views beyond.
A bold black-and-gold wool rug anchors the arrangement with graphic strength, and a Lucite and brass coffee table keeps the centre light and open. Against the fireplace wall, a tonal cloud-motif damask wallpaper, introduced by LLP Design, whispers texture without competing for attention. Above the mantel, a large concave circular mirror in concentric rings of ebony and gold reflects the chandelier, the flowers and the full life of the room back into itself.
The mantel is dressed with blush ceramics, a porcelain bird figurine and dark lacquered canisters, grouped with a collector’s precision. At the firebox, a pair of red lacquered bamboo-style stools introduce a note of colour and cultural contrast that is entirely characteristic of how LLP Design works.
the LIVING Room Styling Detail
LLP Design styled View Residence as an extension of the furnishing process, not a final layer applied at the end. A tall bunch of purple liatris in a clear glass vase rises from the burl timber side table, flanked by a pair of patinated bronze animal sculptures chosen for presence and story. On the Lucite coffee table, a lacquered tray holds a silver tea service alongside a shallow vessel of blush peonies and a vivid orange accent piece: the kind of colour decision that wakes a room without unsettling it.
The gilded French fauteuil in sage damask sits just beyond, completing a composition that feels entirely spontaneous and entirely deliberate at the same time. Styling is not decoration. It is the difference between a room that looks resolved and one that feels lived.
A chandelier does not just LIGHT a room.
It SETS the entire register of it.
